Moriah's Studio Attendance Policy
Regular Attendance:
Students are expected to attend all scheduled lessons consistently. Regular attendance is essential for steady progress and skill development.
Punctuality:
Students should arrive on time for their scheduled lessons. Late arrivals will result in a shorter lesson, as sessions cannot be extended due to other commitments.
Advance Notice for Absences:
If a student must miss a lesson, advance notice is required. Please notify the instructor at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson time by text or email.
Verbal notices and/or communication through social media apps may not be acknowledged. Students and parents should ensure that any communications are sent via text or email. Declining a Zoom meeting invitation or canceling a calendar event on MyMusicStaff.com will not be acknowledged as notice.
Students who provide at least 24 hours' notice for an absence via text or email are eligible for a make-up lesson. Should the instructor need to cancel, a make-up lesson will be granted.
Make-up lessons will be scheduled based on the instructor’s and the student's availability. Make-up lessons can roll over into the following months until they are scheduled. Students will still be charged the same monthly rate. No additional charge will be applied when the make-up lesson is scheduled.
For Trial Lessons:
If a student cancels a discounted trial lesson before 24 hours of the scheduled lesson start time, they will not be charged. However, a make-up lesson at the discounted price will not be granted after the first trial lesson cancellation. The lesson may be rescheduled at the one-time full price. If the instructor needs to cancel a discounted trial lesson, the lesson will be rescheduled at the discounted price.
Only cancellations via email and text will be acknowledged. Verbal notices of cancellations or notice via social media apps will not be acknowledged. Declining a Zoom meeting invitation or canceling a calendar event on MyMusicStaff.com will not be acknowledged as notice.
Late Notice or No Notice:
Failure to provide notice of an absence more than 24 hours prior to the lesson start time may affect the student's progress. No make-up lesson will be provided. In such cases, the full lesson fee will be charged.
If a student is a no-show with no communication to the instructor for 4 consecutive weeks of lessons, they will still be charged for the month. The following month's lessons will be canceled, and they may lose their lesson time slot.
A student may request an in-person lesson to be changed to a Zoom lesson. They must notify the instructor via email or text before 8 p.m. Pacific Standard Time the day prior to the lesson. Failure to provide proper notice may result in the lesson being counted as an absence with late or no notice and a makeup will not be granted.
Emergency Situations:
In the event of an emergency, the instructor will exercise flexibility regarding attendance. Prompt communication in such cases is essential.
Cancellation:
Should a student need to cancel recurring lessons, more than 30 days' notice before the student's end date is required. If less than 30 days' notice is given, the student will still be charged their monthly rate. If more than 30 days' notice is provided, the final month of lessons will be prorated based on the cancellation date.
